Easter Sunday - Amazing Love

What a wonderful Easter it turned out to be. The weather didn't cooperate but oh well. We had planned to go to Dallas Blooms but it was cold and wet so we had an indoor egg hunt after church. I made Easter baskets for Caleb and Colten. I baked Martha Stewart's orange glazed ham. I baked an Easter cake that came out kinda cute and chocolate covered strawberries. I think everyone enjoyed it. They ate it anyway if they didn't.

With all the eggs, bunnies, and good food we tend to overlook why we're celebrating so I made it a point to reflect on what this day really means. How amazing it is. I think the song "You Are My King (Amazing Love)" by The Newsboys says it all. I love this song.
I’m forgiven because You were forsaken
I’m accepted, You were condemned
I’m alive and well, Your Spirit lives within me
Because You died and rose again
Amazing love, how can it be
That You, my King, should die for me?
Amazing love, I know it’s true
It’s my joy to honor You
In all I do, I honor You
You are my King
You are my King Jesus,
You are my King
You are my King

Mema's Surprise Birthday Party

Yesterday my mother turned 86. I had planned a small surprise party for her after work - my work, not hers. When I got home she was in bed. She said she didn't feel good, that her stomach hurt. She wasn't dressed, just laying there. I told her she better get up because she was having a surprise party in about an hour so she should really get dressed. She jumped up with a big smile on her face and said "I am!" I told her she best act surprised. She was so happy. She wasn't sick, just sad because she thought we forgot her birthday. It was so cute. All her local kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were there. We ate hotdogs, hamburgers, birthday cake and ice cream. Sorry, no candles. I didn't want to burn the house down, LOL.

Caleb in Candyland

Today was Caleb's 3rd birthday party. I did a Candyland theme stolen straight from Hostess with the Mostess. I spent weeks planning this. If you know me, you know I'm a planner. I make lists, I do research. I looked forever to find plastic jars instead of glass for the candy buffet to be kid safe. I found a low table to be kid sized. I mean, I think of everything. Well, almost. I missed one little detail. I made these adorable candy pieces using paper lanterns and cellophane. The plan was to hang them from the ceiling below the candy buffet and cupcake table. It was supposed to be a bright colorful true Candyland but...... the party was at Holly's house and it didn't even enter my mind that she has high ceilings. We didn't have a ladder and coudn't reach the ceilings. We ended up hanging them in doorway arches and other low places throughout the house. I don't think the kids noticed though, nor would they have cared. Caleb had a great time, got lot's of presents. All the kids were so cute. Now I must focus my attention on Colten's 1st birthday pool party in May. Hum, what shall I do?

My Attempt at Blogging

Ok, I don't even know what blogging is. Seriously, I don't, but here we go. Oh wait, does scrapblog.com count? I love that site. I do spend alot of time on the internet. I've seen this stuff before but I just don't get it. I've never been on Facebook, nor do I have friends on that other site who's name escapes me. I'm not sure what I'll do here or why I'm doing it. I've played games, read the news, spent time on cleaning and organizing websites, love those. I must be bored. I'm not sure how this will go. It took me 5 tries to get the scrambled up letters right to even get this far. I figure I'll end up talking about things that are important to me on any given day. God first, my family, my job, post photos of my 2 beautiful grandbabies, things like that.

Anyway, step 1, getting the scrambled up letters right. Complete. Step 2, think of a name. That was tough. I thought about "A Day in the Life," from the old Beatles song. I thought about just using my name but I wanted something creative. I chose "My World Delivered." It seemed appropriate since I'll probably talk about my little world and "Your World Delivered" seems to be a catchy slogan for AT&T, my employer. Goofy I'm sure, but step 2 complete. Step 3, post something. Compete. Step 4, find this place again. Hum, no idea. Save it to my favorites? Google it? Yeah, I think it's in my favorites now. Complete. Ok, off to figure out how I get pictures on here.
